Grow the Game Is Finally Here Next Saturday — and We Have a Very Special Guest 🏒

Grow the Game Day is officially one week away — and we have some real, exciting breaking news to share.

A Very Special Guest Is Coming 🤫

A very special guest is coming to Grow the Game Day — identity revealed July 18

Can you guess who it is? All will be revealed July 18.

We'll have a very special guest attending Grow the Game Day, courtesy of the Seattle Kraken, the Kraken Power Play Program, and the One Roof Foundation. ECBH has been trying to get this personality to an event for some time — and the moment has finally arrived. Our special guest will be in the building at the Frances Anderson Center between 11am and 12pm, for about 45 minutes. You will not want to miss this.

"We give special thanks and gratitude to the Kraken for pulling off this very special guest. I can't wait to see the smiles and excitement on the kids' faces. This is going to be an amazing day that nobody will forget anytime soon."

Liz Crouthamel · Director of Women's Development, USA Ball Hockey

We're elated to welcome Liz Crouthamel, Director of Women's Development for USA Ball Hockey, to Greater Seattle — working alongside Coach Salvatore and our assistants for this special day. Liz is making the trek all the way from Philadelphia, PA.

Liz is instrumental in growing the women's game around the country and was a large part of the U.S. national women's team's recent back-to-back world title in the Czech Republic. ECBH is committed to getting more girls playing this wonderful game in Greater Seattle, and we can't wait to have her love, passion, and energy next week.

Summer Camp Blast in Edmonds — Few Seats Remain for August 🏒

A young ECBH goalie lies on his back under the net, all smiles during Edmonds Summer Camp

What an incredible week!

Last week, Emerald City Ball Hockey wrapped up another unforgettable Summer Camp at the Frances Anderson Center in Edmonds, WA — the home of the future Emerald City Ball Hockey League (more on that later). And what an amazing experience it was! From the very first warm-up to the final game, our campers brought incredible energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn that made every day exciting.

Whether it was a child's very first experience with Emerald City Ball Hockey or a current player taking another step in their journey, every player made noticeable progress throughout the week — improving their stickhandling, passing, shooting, teamwork, and game awareness while building confidence with every drill, every game, and every success along the way.

But the greatest takeaway wasn't just the skills they developed — it was the friendships they built.

Throughout the camp, players encouraged one another, celebrated great plays, and welcomed new teammates into our ECBH community, discovering that ball hockey is about so much more than scoring goals. It's about belonging — a place where everyone is supported, challenged, and encouraged to be their very best.

  • Edmonds Summer Camp ball hockey action
  • Campers playing ball hockey at Frances Anderson Center
  • A camper working on stickhandling at Edmonds Summer Camp
  • Fast-paced ball hockey game during Edmonds Summer Camp

There were countless laughs, smiles, exciting games, and friendly competition — moments that reminded us exactly why we love introducing kids to this incredible, growing sport. By the end of the week, tired legs were matched only by the thrill of campers leaving proud of what they'd accomplished, excited about what they'd learned, and already asking when they could come back.

Seeing every child walk away happy, empowered, and wanting more is exactly why Emerald City Ball Hockey exists. Our mission has always been to provide a fun, safe, and welcoming environment where children can build confidence, develop new skills, create lasting friendships, and discover a lifelong love for staying active through sport. Every smile, every high-five, and every personal breakthrough reminds us that together we're building something much bigger than a hockey program — we're building a community.

To every family who joined us this past week — thank you.

And the excitement doesn't stop here. It keeps rolling on through the summer and into a game-changing 2026–2027 season for boys and girls of all ages and experience levels.
